The Los Angeles Dodgers are a Major League Baseball team associated with the National League Western Division. The Dodgers were established in 1883 in Brooklyn, New York. Before the 1958 season the team moved to the newly established National League and became the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers hold 21 National League pennants and have appeared in the World Series 18 times, tied with the San Francisco Giants for the most World Series appearances in the National League.

The Dodgers are a part of the oldest rivalry in Major League Baseball with the San Francisco Giants. This storied rivalry has followed the two teams from their days as the Brooklyn Dodgers and the New York Giants to their current homes in Los Angeles, California and San Francisco, California.

The rivalry remains a close match, both teams hold 6 World Series Championships and 21 pennants. The Dodgers maintain more division championships boasting 11 National League West titles to the Giants 7.
